The Crop Tops began as a solo project by songwriter Deeds back in 2022 although the project had been worked on since as early as 2018. At first it was a solo project until in 2024 new members started being added. First Noah Redfern (Bass) and then later in 2025 Samara Cullen (Banjo) and Stef Berg (Drums)
